The Gaza Health Ministry on Monday declared the Gaza Strip an "epidemic area" for polio. It said the presence of the virus is due to the destruction of critical infrastructure during the Israel-Hamas war. International organizations are calling for an immediate ceasefire to stop the possible spread of polio in Gaza and beyond.
