When the U.S. military withdrew from Afghanistan this summer, the Afghan interpreters and mission staff who had worked alongside the Canadian Armed Forces were left at the mercy of the Taliban. The Fifth Estate obtained leaked emails that show Canadian cabinet ministers and their staff were warned well before the American pullout that those Afghan nationals needed to be rescued.
