Joly says Canada-U.K. friendship is 'in our DNA' after British PM's White House comments

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly said she doesn't believe the relationship between Canada and the United Kingdom has changed after comments made by the British prime minister during a visit to the White House.

Countries reach a $200-billion deal to protect nature. The U.S. was not involved

Forest lines near the city of Belem, Brazil, in the Amazon rainforest, where the next global U.N. climate conference will be held. Host country Brazil helped to bring about a related deal on funding for conserving nature and biodiversity.

A gathering of countries in Rome this week agreed on a plan to generate $200 billion US in finance a year by 2030 to halt and begin to reverse the destruction of the natural world.
