Creator of N.Y.-Dublin video 'portal' won't let a few bad actors crush his dreams of connecting humanity

People wave, snap selfies, do news interviews and hold make heart shapes with their hands next to a giant circle in the street with a screen in the centre showing a crowd of people standing outside, including one holding a sign that reads 'Free Virtual Hugs.'

Now that the New York-Dublin portal is back up and running with limited hours and new security features, its creator is determined not to let a few negative incidents sour what he says has been an overwhelmingly positive experiment.

Bright comet fragment streaks over Spain and Portugal

A comet fragment lit up the skies over parts of Spain and Portugal with bright tones of blue and green late Saturday, according to the European Space Agency. The ESA estimated it flew over the two countries at a speed of 45 kilometres per second before burning up over the Atlantic.
