Japan lands uncrewed spacecraft on the moon, but with complications

Japan became the fifth country to put a spacecraft on the moon but the probe was not generating solar power, its space agency said, during a mission to prove a "precision" landing technology and revitalize a space program that has suffered setbacks.

Dog saves Michigan owner who fell through ice

Bystanders at Arbutus Lake in Michigan called 911 after witnessing a man fall through the ice on the frigid lake. After arriving on scene, Michigan State police officer Kammeron Bennetts was able to deliver a 'rescue disc' with the help of the man's pet dog, Ruby.

Deep in the Amazon, researchers have uncovered a complex of ancient cities — using laser technology

Researchers have found the ruins of huge, ancient cities in the Ecuadorian depths of the Amazon, using airborne laser sensors to see what’s hidden in the dense vegetation.
